10 ways to a more sublime you

✨ beauty isn't just about what you see in the mirror - it's about feeling good and tapping into your own radiance, bringing your beauty from the inside out ✨
when I was younger, I thought there was only one type of beauty: the supermodel look. as I travelled, and grew and learned and lived, I realised that everyone is beautiful, I mean that literally, that everyone is beautiful to someone, and that one person's ideal of beauty isn't everyone's. which means beauty is a level-playing field in a way, but there are certain things that define beauty: healthy skin, weight, hair, teeth and so on. being healthy is beautiful.
here are our top ten tips (not in any order) for embracing a more beautiful you, because everyone deserves to feel amazing in their own skin

tip 1: nourish your body with intention 🌟
we've all heard endless talk about how important it is to feed our bodies with a healthy diet. well that's because it's true, boo!
our bodies require different nutrients to maintain good health - and the best way to absorb these list of nutrients (see below) is to eat them!
it's important to maintain a healthy diet that includes plenty of rainbow-coloured fruits and vegetables, grass-fed proteins, and homemade whole grain sides ✨ that way you're ensured that you're receiving the best nutrients in fibre form.
foods that are high in antioxidants can also help to protect the body from damage caused by free radicals - those unstable molecules that can cause damage to cells and tissues, leading to premature aging.
tip 2: move your body with joy ⭐
every day, I jump on my mini trampoline/rebounder for 30-50 minutes. the days I don't, I immediately feel the tightening in my back, my thighs and shoulders.
regular movement helps maintain muscle mass, improves balance and flexibility, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis. ✨
not only that, but bouncing has been shown to make people feel happier, feel joyful; their lymph nodes drain a bit more. they feel lighter.
find a movement that brings you joy - whether it's strength training with weights, dancing, yoga, tai chi, or long walks ☁️ the best exercise routine is one you enjoy doing, you'll actually stick with because it makes you feel alive. and the best exercise is done outside, with the early morning sunlight hitting your face. nothin' like it.

tip 3: stay hydrated for radiant skin ✨
in addition to eating well, staying properly hydrated is one of the simplest yet most effective beauty secrets. when your body is well-hydrated, it shows immediately in your skin's glow, elasticity, and overall health 🌟
drinking plenty of water helps flush toxins out of the body (preferably from a tap, and filter if needed, than bought water) and keeps your skin looking healthy and glowing 🌈 think of water as your daily dose of liquid beauty.
aim for at least 8 glasses of water daily, but listen to your body's needs ☁️ if you're active, live in a dry climate, or spend time in air conditioning, you may need more.
add slices of lemon, cucumber, or mint to make water more appealing and boost its detoxifying benefits.
hydration isn't just about water - foods with high water content like celery, watermelon, cucumbers, oranges, and leafy greens also contribute to your daily fluid intake 🌈 herbal teas and coconut water are excellent alternatives too. I like to make two types of teas: a green tea with basil, ginger, tumeric and cinnamon, and a tea with red dates, goji berries and slices of ginger - it's soooo good!
when you're properly hydrated, your skin appears plumper, fine lines are less noticeable, and you have that natural glow that no highlighter can replicate ⭐ plus, staying hydrated helps your body flush out toxins and supports all your other wellness efforts.
tip 4: cultivate inner peace 🌈
stress can have a negative impact on your overall well-being and beauty. chronic stress leads to high blood pressure, heart disease, depression, and premature aging ☁️
find healthy ways to manage stress through meditation, deep breathing, journaling, daily exercise, healthy foods, regular self-care and connecting with loved ones ✨ when you feel peaceful inside, it radiates outward as natural beauty.
creating inner peace is a daily practice that requires intention and patience 🌟 start your morning with just five minutes of quiet reflection or gentle stretching to set a calm tone for the day. throughout busy moments, return to your breath - even three deep, conscious breaths can reset your nervous system.
establish boundaries that protect your energy ☁️ learn to say no to commitments that drain you and yes to activities that nourish your soul. this might mean turning off notifications during certain hours, creating a peaceful space in your home, or scheduling regular digital detoxes.
nature 🌳 is one of the most powerful stress relievers available 🌙 spend time outdoors whenever possible - whether it's a walk in the park, gardening, or simply sitting under a tree. the natural world has a way of putting things into perspective and calming our minds.
tip 5: protect and pamper your skin 🌟
I am blown away by how fast our skin becomes more delicate and susceptible to environmental damage as every year passes. it starts with a new dark spot on the top of your cheek, an extra wrinkle around the eyes from pressing into the pillow while sleeping on your side, a little deeper furrow between your eyes when you squint to read a book.
so pampering and protecting your skin is numero uno importante with multiple levels of skin care, by wearing sunscreen daily (even on cloudy days) and limiting sun exposure during peak hours, typically between 10am and 4pm.
healthy skin is beautiful skin at any age.
I hate to admit it, but I am one of those '10-step' facial care kinda people. it cools and calms my skin, it sinks in and feels divine, I use very gentle products daily, and then slowly built up to do a harsher retinol a few times a week. I cannot recommend highly enough how developing a gentle skincare routine with levels of serums, oils and water-based moisturiser will keep your skin hydrated, smooth, and fresh.
tip 6: express your authentic self 🌈
true beauty comes from self-expression and confidence. embrace your personal style through clothing, accessories, and colours that make you feel amazing ⭐ when you dress in a way that reflects your personality, you naturally radiate confidence and beauty.
don't be afraid to experiment with new looks or step outside your comfort zone - fashion should be fun and empowering ✨
your authentic style isn't about following every trend or wearing what others expect 🌟 it's about discovering what makes you feel most like yourself. pay attention to the pieces in your wardrobe that make you smile when you put them on - these are clues to your true style preferences.
colour has incredible power to influence your mood and energy ☁️ notice which hues make your skin glow and your eyes sparkle. whether you're drawn to soft pastels, bold brights, or earthy neutrals, wearing colours that resonate with you creates an instant confidence boost.
accessories are where you can really let your personality shine 🌙 a vintage scarf, statement earrings, or a meaningful piece of jewellery can transform a simple outfit into something uniquely you. these personal touches tell your story without saying a word.
remember that style evolution is natural and beautiful ⭐ what felt authentic five years ago might not serve you today, and that's perfectly okay. embrace the journey of discovering and rediscovering who you are through how you choose to present yourself to the world.
most importantly, wear what makes you feel powerful, comfortable, and joyful ✨ when you dress from a place of self-love rather than self-doubt, that inner radiance becomes your most beautiful accessory.

tip 7: nurture meaningful connections 🌟
social connections are vital for mental health and overall well-being. maintain relationships with family and friends, join communities that share your interests, or volunteer for causes you care about ☁️
when you feel connected and supported, it shows in your smile, your posture, and your overall energy 🌈 genuine happiness is the most beautiful accessory you can wear.
remember that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness ⭐ whether through therapy, support groups, or heart-to-heart conversations with trusted friends, sharing your burdens lightens them. inner peace often grows in community with others who understand your journey.

tip 8: practice gratitude and mindfulness 🌙
every religion takes the attitude of gratefulness as a valuable state of being.
taking time each day to appreciate what you have and stay present in the moment can transform your outlook on life ⭐ try keeping a gratitude journal or practicing mindful meditation for just a few minutes daily.
when you approach life with gratitude and awareness, you naturally become more positive and attractive to others 🌟
gratitude is like a muscle that grows stronger with practice ✨ start small by writing down three things you're grateful for each morning or evening. they don't have to be big - perhaps the warmth of your morning coffee, a text from a friend, or the way sunlight streams through your window.
mindfulness can be woven into everyday moments without requiring hours of meditation ☁️ practice being fully present while brushing your teeth, washing dishes, or walking to your car. notice the sensations, sounds, and feelings without judgment.
create mindful rituals that anchor you to the present moment 🌈 this might be taking five deep breaths before meals, pausing to appreciate your reflection before leaving the house, or spending a moment in gratitude before sleep.
when challenging moments arise, try the "pause and breathe" technique 🌳 before reacting, take a conscious breath and ask yourself what you can learn or appreciate about the situation. this simple practice can shift your entire perspective.
gratitude and mindfulness work together to create a beautiful inner glow that others can't help but notice ⭐ when you're genuinely present and appreciative, you become magnetic in the most authentic way possible.
tip 9: embrace the power of quality sleep 🌙
✨ getting enough sleep is important for overall health and well-being - lack of sleep can lead to a variety of health problems, including depression, anxiety, and memory problems
with a consistent ☁️ sleep routine, which includes going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, you wake up refreshed, and it shows in your complexion, your energy levels, and your overall radiance. quality sleep truly is one of the most powerful beauty treatments available. getting enough quality sleep is essential for overall health and becomes even more important as we age. lack of sleep can lead to depression, anxiety, memory problems, and dull skin ✨ avoiding caffeine and alcohol before bedtime also helps in creating a comfortable sleep environment
but quality sleep goes beyond just the hours - it's about creating the perfect conditions for deep, restorative rest 🌈
keep your bedroom cool (around 18-20°c), invest in blackout curtains or an eye mask, and consider using a white noise machine or gel earplugs to block out distractions. I use a pair and they block out funk's snoring really well! (don't tell him I said that.)
avoid caffeine and alcohol before bedtime, and create a peaceful sleep environment ⭐ your skin does its best repair work while you sleep.
create a calming bedtime ritual that signals to your body it's time to wind down 🌙 this might include gentle stretching, reading a book, taking a warm bath with lavender and epsom salts, or practicing deep breathing exercises. avoid screens (or just the small screen) for at least an hour before bed, as blue light can interfere with your natural sleep hormones ✨
remember, during sleep your body repairs itself, your skin regenerates, and your mind processes the day's experiences 🌟 I like to set my intention/manifestation as I fall asleep, and as soon as I wake up. imagining with my mind's eye what I want to accomplish helps the pieces fall into place much more easily than when I 'wing-it'
remember, beauty is a journey, not a destination 🌈 embrace each stage of life with grace and confidence, knowing that true beauty comes from taking care of yourself inside and out.
tip 10: cultivate unshakeable self-confidence ✨
self-confidence is perhaps the most powerful beauty enhancer of all. when you truly believe in yourself and embrace who you are, it radiates from within and transforms how others see you 🌟
start by celebrating your unique qualities and achievements, no matter how small they may seem. practice positive self-talk and challenge that inner critic that tries to dim your shine ☁️ remember, confidence isn't about being perfect - it's about being comfortable with your authentic self.
surround yourself with people who lift you up and believe in your potential 🌈 distance yourself from those who make you question your worth. confidence grows when it's nurtured in supportive environments.
take on small challenges that push you slightly outside your comfort zone 🌙 each time you overcome something that once felt scary, you build evidence of your own capability and strength.
practice good posture, make eye contact, and speak with intention ⭐ these physical habits actually help rewire your brain to feel more confident from the inside out.
remember, true confidence comes from self-acceptance and self-love ✨ when you stop seeking validation from others and start appreciating yourself, you become magnetic in the most beautiful way possible.
made with love from whistler, bc - because everyone deserves to feel beautiful ✨
