field note 001 — the arrival
Fina Funksomething small has started, nah may I even say, wee has started
we're not entirely sure how to explain it. there's a cabin involved. some questionable decisions. a clothing brand that makes things for people who like being outside but don't take it too seriously.
this is field note 001. the arrival. the bit where we show up, look around and decide this is probably going to be fine
who this is for
not the people with the matching gear sets and the gps watches and the protein bars organised by macros.
the a-frame is for the other ones.
the ones who packed three pairs of socks and forgot a spoon. who took the scenic route and ended up somewhere better. who wore something slightly ridiculous on a mountain and felt genuinely great about it.
the colourful people. the curious ones. the slightly eccentric, deeply practical, playfully adventurous humans who just want to get outside without turning it into a competition.
you don't have to be hardcore. you just have to show up
the rules (there aren't many)
- leave the house.
- take the wrong road at least once.
- stop for snacks. always stop for snacks.
- find somewhere beautiful. it doesn't have to be famous.
- stay longer than planned.
- come home muddy.

what we wore
something funky. something that felt like us. something that made at least one stranger smile on the trail.
because if you're going to be outside, you might as well look like yourself while you're doing it.
